The weather is heating up, your cruising along in your ride, the quarter lights and windows are all open (at your own risk in Newquay!) and your still hot and stuffy. Solution?? Pop-outs!
Once a popular USA factory accessory it is now becoming an essential extra to keep the air flow moving through your beetle and keeping you cool.
This guide will walk you through the surprisingly simple process of fitting an after-market kit, we recommend the kit available from the German Car Company as they supply everything you need to install, including seals hinges and glass pre-drilled. It is both stylish and practical and should take no more than a couple of hours (you may need to enlist a friend).

Remove the original side windows from the car, this can be a little tricky to do so a friend would be helpful to hold the glass whilst you push it out from the inside. Remove the old rubber seal and fit the new one supplied with the kit being very careful not to dislodge the headlining.

The kit comes with everything you need, including the hinges which you must now install into the glass (provided with pre-drilled holes) with the bolts provided. DON'T OVERTIGHTEN THE BOLT. Make sure you use the rubber bushes either side of the glass to prevent any rattles once installed, and so that the load is spread and you wont hear the dreaded cracking noise!

Offer up the glass to the window opening and let a friend mark the position of the hinges inside the car. Once marked you will need to drill two holes (one for each hinge). The new pop-outs are of a frameless design without the heavy stainless surround, although the look is less cluttered they ARE meant to sit ON the new rubber seal on the exterior of the car and NOT within the seal.

The securing latches are located on the rear pillar with a pair of self tapping screws, simply drill a pair of holes for each latch and TADA! The job is finished!
The position of the catches is reasonably critical as they work by going over-centre, double check your supplied instructions for details.
